Dr. Santiago Acosta Aide, who is a dual Spanish and Ecuadorian citizen, holds a doctoral degree in Philology from the University of La Laguna (Spain) and also a Ph.D in Spanish and Literature from the Private Technical University of Loja (UTPL). He has been a professor at the University of La Laguna (Spain), the National Agrarian University (Lima, Peru), the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (Iquitos, Peru), the Private University of Iquitos (Peru), Moscow State University of Linguistics (Russia), the Pontifical Catholic University of Bolivia, the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, Ibarra Campus, and the Private Technical University of Loja (Ecuador). In addition, Dr. Acosta was Pro-Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University at the Ibarra CAMPUS from 1997 to 2010.
Dr. Acosta has also been a honour Member of “Benjamín Carrión’s House of Ecuadorian Culture”, Imbabura, since August 31, 2009. In addition, he is a member of the Idente Missionaries School of Thought. His fields of research are Hispanic American Literature, Ethics and Literature, Poetry and the Mystic Experience.
Dr. Acosta currently holds the position of Vice-Chancellor at the Private Technical University of Loja (Ecuador).
