Marcelo Maina

Marcelo MainaDr. Maina is professor in Technology Enhanced Learning at the eLearn Center of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. With a PhD in the Knowledge and Information Society, his dissertation, being on learning design, put a special focus on design practice exchange. His research encompasses such topics as learning design methods and tools, formalization of different pedagogy approaches, personalized learning, open educational resources and practices, and learning ecologies. Currently member of the Edul@ab research Group, he has also coordinated research and innovation projects as well as led European project workpackages. Participant in European projects related to OER and OEP of the Life Long Learning programme “CONCEDE” and “OERTest”, and of the AlfaIII programme “Opportunidad, he has authored peer-reviewed publications in scholarly journals and conference proceedings (http://edulab.uoc.edu/en/?page_id=11). Speaker at scientific conferences as well as reviewer in teaching innovation symposiums, he has a long and diverse experience in faculty development training Argentina, for the CEMED (Centro Multimedial de Educación a Distancia, Universidad Nacional del Litoral) and for two Canadian universities (Université de Montréal and Université du Québec à Montréal). He has participated in research projects (DIVA, LORNET) at the Laboratoire en Informatique Cognitive et Environnements de Formation (LICEF) of Télé-université (Montréal).

Lourdes Guàrdia

Lourdes GuàrdiaPhd. In Educational Sciencies (Country Basc University-Universidad del País Vasco- San Sebastián).Academic Director of the Master’s Degree in Education and ICT (eLearning) at UniversitatOberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia – UOC- Barcelona). Professor and researcher of the eLearnCenter and the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the UniversitatOberta de Catalunya.

Since 1996 is being working at UOC with different roles; as the Head of Multimedia Instructional Design Department for 6 years, as the educational and innovation project’s coordinator at the Educational and Methodological Innovation Strategic Area for two years, and as a professor and researcher during 8 years.

The focus interest in research is instructional design/learning design, educational technology and e-learning, adaptative learning towards personalization, and ePortfolios. She participated in several innovation and research European and national projects.She published several articles and chapters in different journals, books and proceedings.She’s member of 5 conference scientific comities.

Montse Guitert

Montse GuitertFull professor of Department of Computer Science, Multimedia and telecomunications at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). Now she is director of the Digital Literacy program and coordinator of the “ICT competences” course since its inception (1995).

Professor at the Information and Knowledge Society Doctoral Programme; Master in Education and ICT (e-learning) and Master in Open Software at the UOC.

She also has been professor (1992-2000) in the Faculty of Psychology and Educational and Sports Sciences (Blanquerna) from the Ramon Llull University, where she taught different subjects related to the Educational Technology area and Qualitative Research within the Doctoral programme.

Main researcher of Edul@b research group (2009 SGR 591) within the eLearn Center (UOC). PhD in Educational Sciences from the University of Barcelona, specializing in new technologies. Her research focuses on educational technology and e-learning; and more specifically, in the cooperative work in virtual environments, online teacher training and multimedia materials. She has coordinated some projects in these areas.

She has published several articles and participated in international conferences and workshops in her research areas.

Marc Romero

Marc RomeroProfessor at the Department of Computer Science, Multimedia and telecomunications at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), ICT competences’ course coordinator. He also is a member of the Edul@b research group within the eLearn Center (UOC), and the Collaborative Learning in Virtual Environtments Network (RACEV, in spanish), coordinated by Montse Guitert.

He has been also associate professor (2000-2007) of the Educational Science and Psychology faculty at Universitat Rovirar i Virgili, were he taught the “New Technologies applied to Education” course in the teachers training program. He was teacher in several postgraduate workshops and courses.

PhD in Education at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (2008). Master in Information Society and Desing of virtual learning environments (URV).

His research focuses on the Educational Technology and E-learning and more specifically on HE students’ ICT skills and the collaborative work in virtual environments.

He has participated in conferences and workshops in his area of expertise.

He was previously a member of the FOCONNET research group (URV).

Albert Sangrà

Albert SangràDirector of the eLearn Center at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). Director of the M.Sc. program in Education and ICT (e-learning) and full professor at the Psychology and Educational Sciences Department. Member of the Edul@b research group within the eLearn Center (UOC).

At the UOC, he has served as Director, Methodology and Educational Innovation until 2004, being in charge of the educational model of the university.

His main research interests are ICT uses in education and training and, particularly, the policies, organization, management and leadership of e-learning implementation, and its quality assurance. He has played the role of consultant in several online education and training projects in Europe, America and Asia, and he has also served as a consultant for the World Bank Institute.

He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN), and served in the Advisory Board of the Portugal’s Universidade Aberta and the Università degli Studi di Trento, Italy. Currently, he is Vice-President for the European Foundation for Quality in E-Learning (EFQUEL).

European Ph.D. in Education at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Postgraduate Degree in Applications of Information Technology in ODE at The Open University of the UK and Diploma on Strategic Use of IT in Education at Harvard University. BA in Education at the Universitat de Barcelona.

Maria Pérez-Mateo

Maria Perez-MateoShe is currently research assistant of the projects Testing and Open Education Resource Framework for Europe (OERtest) and OportUnidad at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). She also is a member of the Edul@b research group within the eLearn Center (UOC) and the Collaborative Learning in Virtual Environtments Network (RACEV, in spanish), coordinated by Montse Guitert.

She teaches as a consultant of the Master in Education and TIC (e-learning) at the UOC; specifically in “Online learning and teaching” and “Online strategies for teaching” courses. She also has taken part as a consultant in the “ICT competences” subject in several undergraduate programmes of the UOC.

She obtained her PhD in the Information and Knowledge Society Programme from the UOC (2010). Her research area focuses on online collaborative learning and, specifically, on social dimension.

Degree in Pedagogy (2005) at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational and Sports Sciences (Blanquerna) from the Ramon Llull University and degree in Teacher of elementary school (2003) by the same institution.

She has published several articles and has participated in international conferences in her research areas.
