OER and OEP as platforms to enable recognition and validation of expanded learning

The expansion of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), led by major universities such as Stanford, Harvard or MIT are generating a great deal of interest as well as other Open Educational Practices are also becoming a good test bed for new forms of assessing and certificating the knowledge and skills acquired by learners. The aim of this talk is to provide a panoptic of emerging digital learning and flexible knowledge recognition initiatives in HE [i.e. FutureLearn, Open Badges by Mozilla Foundation, Linkedin skill's endorsement or The British Higher Education Achievement Report, HEAR] promoting a critical discussion of the implications and potential tensions between traditional and new-modes of knowledge and skills credentialization.
